Orange Chocolate Cheesecake Swirl Brownies

Assalamu’alaikum 🙂

I’ve been wanting to make an orange chocolate dessert for some time, so tried these today.

I did seek guidance from SORTED Food’s recipe, but made some changes, and will make more changes next time inshaa’Allah, because the cream cheese part was too dry I think.

I used MS.FAT’s Evil Super Fudgey Brownie recipe, one that we’ve come to love and haven’t found a contender to challenge its fudginess yet.

But feel free to use ur own favourite brownie recipe for this.

MS.FAT’s Evil Super Fudgey Brownies

Ingredients:

110g butter
230g good quality dark chocolate
3/4 sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3 eggs
3/4 cup plain flour

Directions:

Melt the butter and chocolate over barely simmering water, whisk until smooth.

Whisk in sugar and salt, then whisk in eggs (if mix is not too hot).

Whisk in flour until combined.

Pour into tray lined with baking paper. Our tray is about 9″ by 6″.

Orange Cheesecake Filling

Ingredients:

75g cream cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1/4 to 1/2 cup flour
zest of one orange

Directions:

Beat cream cheese and sugar till fluffy, add vanilla and egg, beat till combined.

Add in the zest. Beat in the flour gradually till the consistency is about that of the brownie batter.

Blob it onto the brownie batter, and use a knife to swirl it.

Bake in oven at 175 degrees C for about 22-25min till a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Enjoy 🙂
